Tasman Street Kitchen
- Nelson
- Completed - 2016
- Project Architect: Brendon Monk
This small project was an alteration to a heritage house in Nelson’s Tasman Street including the complete redesign of the kitchen and dining area.
The economical kitchen is designed to be the heart of the house for a young family, so it was opened to the dining room and to the outdoors with large bifold doors.
The joinery is kept to a simple palette of whites and neutrals so as to not compete with the rich timbers of the rest of the house. Demolition of wall linings uncovered an unused fireplace which was expressed, adding richness and texture.
